Exploring Career Opportunities for Law Graduates in NGOs

“আইন পড়ে কী হওয়া যাবে না?” – This thought-provoking question set the tone for our enlightening session, “Career for Law Graduates in NGOs: Opportunities and Challenges,” hosted by LexFex.

We were honored to have Mr. Mohammad Abbas Uddin Rony, an esteemed professional in the field of law and NGO affairs, as our guest speaker. He shared invaluable insights into the diverse career pathways available to law graduates beyond the conventional courtroom.

In a society where the default assumption is that studying law equates to becoming a lawyer, this session broke stereotypes and provided clarity on how law graduates can build fulfilling careers in sectors such as:

  • National and International NGOs like UNHCR, UNDP, Save the Children, and IOM
  • Embassies and Foreign Missions as legal officers
  • Corporate Legal Departments
  • Interdisciplinary Roles in health, IT, and engineering sectors

The session also highlighted the challenges law graduates may face in NGOs, such as understanding sector-specific legal frameworks, adapting to international standards, and working in multicultural environments.
